The Galbraith family have been farming at Endmoor farm for 4 generations. It is a dairy, beef and sheep farm running 250 commercial sheep. The farm runs from sea level to 650 ft above sea level
In 2006, Graham bought 2 Hampshire Down rams to use as terminal sires in our commercial flock. The performance of their lambs which were lively, grew quickly and graded well sparked the decision to establish our own pedigree flock. This has grown steadily and this December (2019) we hope to lamb 30 ewes. We have both become passionate about the breed and work hard to promote it and to help and support fellow breeders. For the first time in 2020 we started selling lamb direct to a local butcher and have been delighted with the enthusiastic feed back we have had proving the quality of this breed both on the plate and in the field.
When not at home hindering Graham and my stepson on the farm, I work part time as a veterinary surgeon at Westmorland Veterinary Group. I have served on the breed council since 2011 and was honoured to have been elected as President in Nov 2019 .In addition. Graham and I both on the society’s judging panel and have really enjoyed our judging trips both home and abroad .We are always happy to answer any ‘Hamp’ related queries whether from new breeders or commercial farmers looking for a top terminal sire.
